TD Toney Baker is now a Bronco!

Toney Baker (5-foot-10, 225 pounds) is a rookie running back from North Carolina State University has joined the Broncos as a college free agent on April 26, 2010. 

Toney played football at Ragsdale High School in Jamestown, N.C (class of 2005) where he earned consensus All-America honors.  He finished his career with the third-most rushing yards (10,231) in national high school history along with 161 touchdowns.  Here is the link to download a .pdf of the National HS Football Records - Link

Toney played 38 career games at N.C. State from 2005-09, totaling 451 rushes for 2,045 yards (4.5 avg.) with 17 touchdowns along with 65 receptions for 676 yards (10.4 avg.) with four scores… Finished his collegiate career ranked 11th in school history in both rushing yards (2,045) and rushing touchdowns (17)… Ranked sixth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in rushing (64.4 ypg.) and ninth in all-purpose yards (94.0 per game) in 2009, totaling 160 rushes for 773 yards with six touchdowns and 28 catches for 355 yards with three scores. 

He also received the ACC's Brian Piccolo Award in 2009 as the conference's most courageous player after recovering from a right knee injury that forced him to miss nearly the entire two previous seasons.  Toney entered his junior campaign in 2007 on the Doak Walker Award (nation's best running back) watch list before suffering the knee injury in the season opener against the University of Central Florida.  He majored in parks, recreation and tourism at N.C. State.  Toney was born on June 16, 1986.
