Brandon Drumgoole Drafted 44th Overall in UFL Draft

Former Ragsdale High School student and football player Brandon Drumgoole (class of 2004) was drafted by the Hartford Colonials of the the United Football League.  Brandon played football in college for Wake Forest, Western Carolina and Greensboro College.  While at Ragsdale High School Brandon was first team all state. He played DE and tight end on offense and was listed as the nation's 70th-best defensive end by The Insiders.com.  He was selected to the North Carolina-South Carolina Shrine Bowl  as well as being tabbed first team 3A All-State by NCPreps.com .  Had 72 tackles, six for losses, four caused fumbles, a fumble recovery and six sacks as a junior .

and taken in the ninth round of Wednesday's draft. He is one of just two NCAA D III players selected in the draft. Drumgoole is also the first Pride football player to be selected in any pro football draft.

A defensive lineman, Drumgoole led the team with 16 tackles for losses and six sacks.He was picked to the USA South second team and later played in the inaugural D3 Senior Classic All Star game last December.
Prior to arriving at GC, the 6-6, 260-pound student-athlete attended Wake Forest and Western Carolina Universities.
