Western Guilford Game

The boys played well again as they defeated the Western Guilford Hornets 34 to 7.

Why Ragsdale won: Tigers linebacker Walt Sparks ran an interception back 33 yards for a touchdown on the game's third play, and Ragsdale tightened the screws from there, scoring 34 unanswered and keeping the Hornets off the board until 4:20 left in the game. Ragsdale held Western to minus-2 yards rushing.

"That never was a threat," Ragsdale coach Tommy Norwood said. "We were able to put pressure on the quarterback, they got behind early and then started throwing it all the time."

D'onovan Smith
and Luke Heavner each ran for a touchdown, and Heavner also threw one to DeSean Anderson. Kasey Redfern added a pair of field goals.

"I'm proud our kids were able to run the football a little bit," Norwood said, "and on defense we were able have some success against a team that could throw."

Ragsdale hosts fellow unbeaten Page next week. "I figure there might be a few people there," Norwood joked.
