RHS at Dudley

Last night the Tigers played with heart and emotion but were unable to control the line of scrimmage.  When you lose the battle there you generally lose it on the scoreboard too.  That was the case last night.  The Tigers lost their first regular season game since 2007 to the Panthers of Dudley 12 to 0.

Sometimes we as fans get spoiled, we expect our Tigers to win every game.  Going into last night's game was no exception.  But let's be honest with the lost of all the players from last year, the less than stellar performance last week, and facing the Dudley Panthers there was a lot of concern.  I felt our team went out there and fought hard.  They left it all on the field and gave great effort.  I know they are all disappointed in the loss.  In fact, I would expect them to be.  But they learned that they can play with quality teams.  I know they will work hard in practice to get better in all areas of the game. I left the field wishing we had played a better game but encouraged we can make improvements.

One final point - in 09 we beat the Panthers in the regular season and they beat us in the playoffs.  It's not that the win didn't matter, it's just that it was not nearly as important as the loss in the playoffs.  So our guys need to shake it off, put it behind them and get ready to play Western this week.

GO TIGERS!
